What is Influenster?
Lately, I’ve been on a roll with Influenster. Within the last three months, I’ve received 3 physical Voxboxes (I’ll explain later) and participated in 3 or more virtual campaigns. As I continue to participate, I have had people ask how I’ve gotten chosen for so many, let alone any campaigns on Influenster. Which gave me the idea for this lovely blog post. This is for anyone thinking about signing up for Influenster or who have already signed up and looking for a boost.
What is Influesnter?
Influenster is a free community/platform that allows users to leave or search reviews on a variety of products. As a way to continue generating more reviews, especially for newer products, Influenster also allows users to potentially receive products to test and review. The goal is to connect brands with new customers.
You start by creating a personalized profile by answering questions about your interest, lifestyle, hair type, skin type, etc. Your profile is what helps determine if you will be a good match for certain products or campaigns. If you are a match, Influenster will ask you to complete a brief survey, complete a campaign and then you can earn a badge for your participation.
How To Receive Free Stuff?
This is a question I see and hear all the time. Influenster doesn’t send free stuff to all their users. But, the more you engage within the platform and on your social media accounts, the more likely your chances will be to receive an invitation for a virtual or physical Voxbox.
Quick definition:
VoxBoxes are the packages you receive with the product to test or review. Or, if it is a virtual campaign, it is just the tasks you have to do (like taking a Shelfie in a store or testing a product in store). Voxboxes come in a variety of sizes, sometimes just trial size products and other times it can be full-size. There are even cases where one Voxbox can have multiple products!
Every Influenster user has an impact score. Your impact score is measured by your social media network or your overall network of influence. The more followers you have on a variety of platforms, the higher your impact score will be. If you own a blog and generate a lot of website visitors, or have a lot of subscribers on YouTube, this will increase your impact score as well.
There isn’t a magical formula for receiving free products from Influenster. Influenster likes to see genuine responses and interactions between users and brands. Focus on engaging, creating meaningful and thoughtful content if you are selected for a campaign and increasing your impact score. Also, be sure to complete or interact with all campaigns that you receive. The virtual campaigns are worth just as much as the physical campaigns. If you are selected, you will receive an email, so also be sure to complete the survey on time or else you forfeit your chance to participate!
Why I Like Influenster?
Influenster has been a great way for me to practice and grow as a micro-influencer. I am exposed to new products and brands that I probably would have a hard time connecting with on my own. Plus it gives me great content to share on Sincerely, Ash. The best part about Influenster is that it is free. I enjoy testing products in exchange for an honest review. I also get to test out my product photography skills, and slowly moving into videos (spoiler alert). But Influenster has definitely given me a chance to grow, especially as a beauty and lifestyle blogger.
